From LHH, we are seeking an Operations Supervisor. This role will manage a larger team and carry additional responsibilities for performance reviews and training development of the team. The role may also have the Operations Team Leader position reporting to it.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
* The enforcement of safe systems of work and holding those below them in the management structure accountable for their health and safety performance.
* The provision of safe equipment, safe working environment, and ensuring all employees/contractors are provided with and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.
* Ensure that employees within their departments are adequately informed, instructed, trained, and supervised to safely carry out work for which they are engaged.
* Ensure a safe working environment, striving for zero recordable injuries in compliance with internal policies and external legislation, through activities such as Near Misses, Safety Observations, and timely completion of actions. Ensure that safety and environmental incidents are fully investigated, and appropriate countermeasures established.
* Manage production operations to ensure efficiency and that the production schedule is achieved.
* Deploy and supervise team members effectively.
* Resolve day-to-day problems.
* Monitor and manage team attendance and performance effectively.
* Monitor operating standards and initiate necessary changes.
* Closely monitor operator dead time and initiate possible reductions.
* Empower team members to take appropriate responsibility.
* Bring critical issues to the attention of Production/Operation Managers and assist in providing solutions.
* Escalate and resolve issues quickly and efficiently in the absence of the Production/Operation Manager.
* Provide cover in the absence of other Supervisors.
* Develop and communicate recommendations for plant, equipment, and working practices to management.
* Train team members effectively and encourage improved performance.
* Involve team members in communication and the development and introduction of improvement initiatives.
* Encourage team members to understand business needs and decision-making processes.
* Appraise team members, identify training and development needs.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education: Previous supervisory experience and/or qualifications. Educated to Secondary or High School standard. University degree preferred.
Knowledge and Experience: Excellent interpersonal, influencing, coaching, and negotiating skills. Articulate communicator, both written and verbal. Ability to build and manage relationships. Enthusiasm and patience for developing others. Values strong teamwork. Numerically astute with data analysis skills. Customer-focused. Capable of producing and presenting proposals. Demonstrates analytical skills and business acumen. Hands-on attitude. Committed to continuous improvement. Self-motivated.
Technical/Skill Requirements: Advanced PC skills. Financial and commercial awareness is an advantage. Fluent in English and Spanish.
