About the Role
As part of our continuous improvement efforts through our Digital Lifestyle strategy, this role will manage the technical and functional bridge between tax assurance processes and tools within each OpCo, delivered to HQ. Main objectives include:
* Supporting the management of Tax Reporting procedures and deliverables to ensure high quality and timely completion.
* Assisting in implementing improved and standardized tax reporting processes across the group to foster cross-functional and technical synergies.
* Ensuring accountability for the accuracy of tax figures reported internally and externally, with a clear understanding of their detailed composition.
* Supporting change management and stakeholder alignment by establishing a culture of tax operational excellence.
You will add value by working with various stakeholders to ensure effective project management and taking responsibility for end-to-end processes to meet overall objectives.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing Group Tax Reporting deliverables with respect to timing and quality.
* Reviewing OpCo deliverables and initiating clarifications or adjustments as needed.
* Reviewing tax-related disclosures.
* Supporting the implementation of improved tax reporting solutions.
* Standardizing local tax reporting processes within each OpCo using Millicom-specific templates and tools.
* Providing tax-related support to other departments during routine and non-routine transactions.
* Communicating Group highlights to key stakeholders throughout the year.
* Serving as the primary contact for tax matters for OpCo tax managers.
* Ensuring SOX compliance across OpCos, Group, and HQ by managing process improvements.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years experience in a regional or HQ tax team, advising multinational groups on tax reporting.
* Experience influencing remote teams and stakeholders.
* Proven ability to develop and enforce policies and guidelines.
* Experience with tax digitalization solutions is advantageous.
Required Skills:
* Graduate degree; MBA preferred.
* Knowledge of financial and accounting systems such as Oracle eBS, HFM, SAP; certifications are a plus.
* Strong understanding of finance and tax concepts, IFRS, US GAAP, and IAS 12; certifications are advantageous.
* Fluent in Spanish and English.
