Our product teams work in an interdisciplinary and solution-oriented manner using agile methods. The platform represents the home base of the employees and ensures their professional development especially in the SAP Basis environment up to SAP (Basis) certification.
Within platform SAP Basis & Operations we are introducing a new position to strengthen our SAP operations as we transition to a fully managed service model across all SAP environments. As an SAP Technical Operations Engineer (Basis / Authorization) you will combine deep SAP Basis knowledge with conceptual SAP authorization expertise and play a key role in coordinating activities with our external Managed Service Provider (MSP).
While you will not execute hands-on administrative changes yourself, your expertise will guide the MSP, ensure technical quality, validate change requests and support smooth collaboration across our SAP landscapes. This role is ideal for an experienced SAP professional who enjoys technical oversight, structured coordination and improving service integration.
What requirements do you need to meet
- Completed studies in business administration technical environment or equivalent education
- Profound knowledge of SAP Basis Administration in SAP R / 3 and SAP S4 / HANA and SAP authorization;
SAP (Basis) certifications are advantageous
- Experience in an engineering / technology role and participation in agile product teams desirable as well as knowledge in service delivery management to manage our managed service partner
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, SAP BTP and hybrid infrastructures.
- Solid understanding of SAP technical operations and related processes.
- Proven ability to advise and guide without hands‑on system change permissions.
- Experience collaborating with service providers or working in managed SAP environments.
- Ability to coordinate with external partners and ensure service execution quality.
- Excellent communication and structured thinking skills.
- Comfortable providing expert guidance and validating technical decisions.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and proactive approach
Your Tasks SAP Basis & Authorization Expertise
- Provide expert SAP Basis guidance to the MSP across diverse SAP environments.
- Review, assess and validate technical change requests.
- Evaluate change plans and ensure alignment with requirements of connected / neighboring systems.
- Support concept work in SAP authorizations (role principles SoD awareness auditing expectations).
- Ensure technical consistency during upcoming transformations (e.G. migrations S4 transformation projects BTP transformation).
- Monitor MSP execution quality and ensure tasks are performed accurately and on time.
Service Delivery Coordination
- Act as an operational counterpart to the MSP for SAP Basis‑related topics.
- Oversee technical coordination for MSP‑handled tasks and ensure proper handover from internal teams.
- Raise operational escalations to the next internal level when necessary.
- Coordinate expectations with internal stakeholders when SAP Basis involvement is required.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement and integration of new SAP technologies (e.G. SAP BTP Cloud ALM).
