Offer Description
English. The project will be carried out at the Department of Materials Science of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (School of Civil Engineering, C/ Prof. Aranguren, 3, Basement -1, 28040 Madrid) and at the Center
for Biomedical Technology of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM Science and Technology Park, M40 Highway, Km. 38, 28223 Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid). In addition, the project will offer the possibility of
research stays at universities and/or research centers in Europe and the Americas.

Skills/Qualifications
English. For the proper development of the tasks, proficiency in programming with Matlab and
Python is an essential requirement. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate knowledge and
experience in automated image analysis using artificial intelligence. Experience with software for
acquiring electrical measurements using impedance analyzers will be valued.
Specific Requirements
English. 1.-Laboratory experience related to biomedical engineering, materials science, and
mechanobiology—particularly focus on the biophysical characterization of cells and tissues—will
be positively valued. 2.- Willingness to travel to national and international academic institutions.

Additional Information
English. It would be possible to combine doctoral/master's studies. In particular, it would be
possible to begin doctoral studies in the program of the Department of Materials Science. This
opportunity is open to recent graduates without/with little prior experience. Flexible working
hours.
Eligibility criteria
English. 1.- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering. 2.- Research experience related to
the development of microfluidic technologies. 3.- Research experience in image analysis using
artificial intelligence. 4.- Programming skills and software proficiency. 5.- Ability to learn and work
in a team. 6.- Proactive attitude and a strong interest in research.
