About the Role
We're looking for a Mid Backend Engineer to join Nuva's growing in-house tech team. You'll help deliver some of our most strategic products while supporting the migration of our low-code tooling into production-grade systems.
You'll work closely with our team of senior engineers and collaborate with product and operations teams on the products that will power Nuva: our booking engine, property management workflows, and operational applications.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assist in building and improving core business logic: booking flows, availability, pricing, contract formalisation, and property management
* Work across backend and frontend: troubleshoot APIs, fix UI issues, and contribute to feature development
* Write and maintain database queries (PostgreSQL), inspect data, and support schema changes and migrations
* Contribute to engineering best practices: testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, and monitoring
* Collaborate with senior management, product, and operations teams to understand requirements and deliver reliable solutions
* Grow into new responsibilities over time: from maintenance to new features, and eventually ownership of specific systems

Technical Requirements
* Backend: Node.js / TypeScript · RESTful APIs · PostgreSQL
* Frontend: React with TypeScript · Browser dev tools
* Infra & Tooling: Git · AWS/S3 / Supabase · Error tracking · Unit testing
* AI Tools: Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot (familiarity or interest)
Who We're Looking For
* 3–5 years of experience in backend and/or full stack development
* Solid fundamentals in Node. xpzdshu js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and React
* Experienced using AI to boost the tech team productivity
* Comfortable debugging, maintaining, and improving existing systems
* Clear communicator who values feedback and structured collaboration
* Curious about the business side — you want to understand the "why"
