Overview
Join Roche for the Platform Strategy Lead role. This position focuses on driving the strategy for Roche’s common platforms to support digital medical products and engineering excellence, with a key influencer role to shape Roche platforms and contribute to the Roche Software transformation and capabilities building.
Role purpose
As the Platform Strategy Sub Chapter Lead, you will be responsible for driving the strategy for Roche’s common platforms to support digital medical products and engineering excellence. Through coaching, mentoring, and creating programs, you’ll be focused on improving the way we develop software across the different software organizations. You will lead with Roche values and leadership commitments to inspire and create transformative roadmaps and solutions that help Roche products maintain industry leadership.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of program managers and architects with technical expertise to guide cutting-edge technologies and informatics solutions that have cross-functional impact.
* Provide leadership, coaching, and development guidance to staff on competencies, goal setting, performance, problem solving, and daily operations to avoid critical delays.
* Deliver programs on time with quality; manage cross-functional software development projects and budgets; actively manage vendor relationships and consulting services.
* Lead portfolio management, roadmap, and design of Roche’s strategic (Cloud / Edge) software platforms that support digital medical products.
* Plan and implement cloud-native solutions with cross-functional collaboration to ensure access security, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability.
* Engage with internal platform customers across Roche teams to drive fast and consistent adoption of Roche common platforms and associated tooling and development tools management.
Who you are
* BS degree or equivalent in a directly related discipline (CS, Information Systems, Engineering, etc.).
* Senior-level experience with several years in leadership roles:
* 10+ years of formal management experience leading a team of engineers.
* At least 5 years of experience in development leadership of cloud-based software architecture and solutions development using AWS.
* Experience as a tech lead or architect, leading a technical team and designing large-scale software systems.
* Skilled in managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships in a complex organization.
Specialist knowledge
* At least 5 years of development leadership in SaaS-based applications using Java, Node.js, etc.
* Expert understanding of cloud technologies, microservices, database design, and experience implementing large-scale cloud-native SaaS solutions.
* Track record of delivering informatics solutions to address complex informatics challenges with broad impact.
* Experience defining, building, deploying, and supporting enterprise-scale web applications on the cloud.
* Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to inspire and motivate teams and lead cross-functional project teams in a matrix organization.
* Experience proposing common technical solutions, working with engineering, negotiating with peers, and leading adoption.
Locations
You will be based in Sant Cugat, Spain. As this position is global, international business travel may be required depending on business needs.
