Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease Unit is looking to build the next generation of patient-centric data products to support scalable AI solutions. We are seeking a qualified individual passionate about understanding how to best utilize healthcare data and platforms to drive business innovation. This role is responsible for leading the effort on building and maintaining data management solutions with a focus on business process analysis and functional data management. Reporting directly to the Head of Data Management in IT, this role works closely with functional Data Governance Offices, IT BP’s & Data Capability leads, and Platform Owners.
Accountabilities
1. Manage end-to-end delivery and maintenance of data products for RDU R&D and Medical. Translate business demands into data foundation needs and implement data products adhering to RDU standards.
2. Manage functional roadmap of core and derived / analytical data products mapped to business processes.
3. Work with business stakeholders and IT system owners across MDM (master data management), RDM (reference data management), and DC (data catalogue) projects to ensure the adoption and adherence of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) and Trustworthy data product standards.
4. Collaborate with Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Data Quality Managers to drive forward data standardization and practices.
5. Liaise proactively with SMEs and Information Architects to support the development and implementation of conceptual models, business glossary, and ontologies.
6. Strong understanding of Data Management concepts, experience in execution of data management projects around data access & discovery, metadata management, and data quality.
7. Familiarity with Data Engineering, Marketplace & Metadata tools and platforms – Collibra, BigID, Snowflake, and DBT.
8. Technical experience in database structures, structured programming languages, relational databases, and the ability to query using SQL.
9. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related field and 3-5 years’ experience in managing data management and BI projects.
10. Strong communication skills and ability to communicate complex methods and results to diverse audiences including leadership team.
11. Working knowledge of R / Python, SQL.
12. Prior experience working with Pharma R&D and Medical data assets and business processes like Drug Discovery, Clinical Trial Development & Operations, Medical Affairs.
