Key Duties
Develop AI models for cardiology, including advanced signal processing of cardiac signals.
Perform medical image analysis in cardiology.
Integrate biomarkers into predictive models.
Apply deep learning, transformers, foundational models and generative AI approaches.
Collaborate with clinical researchers and cardiologists to co‑design and validate AI tools.
Contribute to product‑ready applications for use in healthcare settings.
Ensure models are robust, explainable and clinically relevant.
Publish and disseminate results in scientific and innovation forums.
Requirements Education
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related fields. PhD acceptable but not required.
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
3–5 years of deep learning experience with biomedical data; strong signal processing background for cardiac data; proven expertise in medical image analysis (preferably cardiology); solid programming skills in Python and deep learning libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow). Familiarity with biomarkers or multimodal data integration is desirable. Fluency in English, Catalan and Spanish.
Additional Experience
Experience collaborating with clinical partners or working on healthcare datasets is an advantage. Strong interest in developing healthcare applications with real clinical impact.
Competences
Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills; ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams (engineers, clinicians, researchers).
Conditions Location: BSC, Life Sciences Department.
Contract: full‑time (37.5 h/week), open‑ended, fixed remuneration competitive with qualifications and Barcelona cost of living. Adaptable working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, relocation support.
Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December.
