Technical Artist - Yahtzee! With Buddies
Scopely is looking for a Technical Artist to join our Yahtzee team in our Barcelona studio. Yahtzee! With Buddies is a casual free-to-play mobile game. The team is based in Europe and the US and works daily to create captivating experiences for players.
Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and drive adoption of an end-to-end content pipeline that supports live operations, the design team, UI team, and 2D/3D artists.
* Collaborate closely with art and engineering teams to optimize workflows and tools for creatives.
* Define and promote technical best practices for content creation.
* Own and maintain the technical budget of in-game assets, ensuring they are gameplay-ready and performance-optimized.
* Knowledgeable in HLSL and built-in render pipeline; implement UI that scales to different mobile devices; support artists with UI implementation.
* Support the team in leveraging Unity and related tools; contribute to scripting and coding as needed.
What you will need
* 3+ years of experience as a Technical Artist in the entertainment industry (mobile experience preferred).
* Strong scripting and coding skills (e.g., Python, C#).
* Solid understanding of computer graphics fundamentals.
* Well-versed in digital content creation tools (e.g., Blender, Photoshop, Figma).
* Experience using version control and asset management tools (e.g., Git).
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to bridge art and engineering disciplines.
* Bonus: Experience with real-time VFX; understanding of animation pipelines; proficiency in profiling on devices.
* Portfolio or links to examples of work required in the application.
