Therapeutic Specialist

Responsibilities

* Prepare business plan regional and account plans for your territory aligned to local brand plan priorities for HIV, communicate required actions to achieve goals. With guidance, initiate systems to monitor sales progress and action plans.
* Identify and map patient referral journey pathways within the HIV territory and facilitate patient access to treatment.
* Achieve sales targets in the assigned territory.
* Work in partnership with Regional Market Access and Medical colleagues and Marketing, to ensure local access is in place for HIV Gilead medicines.
* Establish and develop business relationships with key customers, accounts, and relevant key opinion leaders. Set and achieve customer contact plans and deliver on related KPIs.
* Manage territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other miscellaneous external expenditures.
* May represent the company at professional events and promote company products at such events.
* Work cooperatively with Gilead Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Marketing and Market Access on cross-functional projects.
* Assist in identifying and resolving issues and opportunities, and communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management.
* Complete necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner (e.g., updating customer database, expenses).
* Achieve the competency levels required in the role and comply with country regulations and code of conduct at all times.
* Role will require travel and, depending on location, the need for overnight stays.


Knowledge, experience and skills

* The ideal candidate will have a passion for commercializing this breakthrough medicine, a strong competitive and commercial mindset, robust scientific acumen, and a patient & customer centric approach.
* Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required and experience with the HIV therapeutic area is preferred.
* Scientific degree in Sciences, Pharma or similar is required.
* Established contacts with relevant customers is preferred.
* Sound scientific knowledge and the ability to stay current with emerging data.
* Ability to digest original publications and talks; understanding of how HIV services are delivered.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and build working relationships internally and externally; ability to develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders and communicate at executive levels.
* Proven expertise in building interpersonal relationships, influencing and negotiating skills; experience in account planning and cross-functional account management.
* Self-motivated with autonomy; familiar with industry trends and competitive practices.
* Solid analytical skills to identify and interpret issues and provide recommendations; ability to work in cross-functional teams and orchestrate multiple communication channels.
* Availability to travel.
