Santander Group is looking for a Crypto Lawyer based out of Boadilla Office.
Responsibilities
Provide expert legal advice and support on the design, structuring and delivery of global, scalable digital asset products and services for retail customers.
Draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial and technology agreements, including supplier, partnership and customer‑facing agreements.
Develop core legal templates and associated guidance for the provision of retail digital asset products across multiple geographies.
Advise on regulatory changes that present opportunities and challenges for Santander Group’s retail digital asset business, including MiCA in the EU, GENIUS in the US and equivalent laws and regulations in the UK, APAC and LATAM.
Support major projects and transactions working closely with senior management, other Santander Group legal teams and, where appropriate, external counsel.
Collaborate with, and provide subject‑matter expertise to, local legal and compliance teams on digital asset retail products and services.
Keep abreast of and contribute to industry consultations and internal training covering regulatory and market developments in the digital asset arena.
Professional Experience
Minimum of seven years’ post‑qualification experience as a lawyer in a law firm (covering corporate, regulatory and/or finance) or in‑house, ideally in a fintech (payments) environment.
Digital asset and blockchain experience is essential.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law.
MBA and/or additional degrees (Business Administration, Corporate Governance, International Law, etc.) – preferred.
Languages
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
Hard Skills
Knowledge of financial services and crypto regulatory framework.
Sound understanding of the regulatory regime impacting financial services and crypto.

Build strong working relationships and share knowledge with a shared vision for cross‑team collaboration.

Undertake appropriate training to ensure continued development.
