Overview
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing centre in Spain. It hosts MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is a leading entity in EuroHPC JU. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D in computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, with over 1000 staff from 60 countries.
Context And Mission
Perform tasks related to the Barcelona Zettascle Lab (BZL) project.
Key Duties
* Contribute to the simulation infrastructure being developed as part of the BZL project.
Requirements
* Education : B.S. in Computer Sciences.
* Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience : 1–2 years in a similar position.
* Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience : Knowledge of architectural simulators such as gem5 is a plus.
* Competences :
o Basic knowledge of computer architecture.
o Good communication and writing skills in English.
Conditions
* Location: BSC, Computer Sciences Department.
* Contract: Full‑time (37.5 h/week), open‑ended, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, relocation support.
* Duration: Open‑ended contract linked to project and budget.
* Holiday: 22 days + 6 personal days + 24th/31st December per collective agreement.
* Salary: Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and local cost of living.
* Starting date: 01/02/2025.

Recruitment Process
The selection follows a competitive examination system with two phases: curriculum analysis (40 %) and interview (60 %). A minimum of 30 points out of 60 is required to proceed to the interview stage. The panel includes at least 25 % representation of women and follows Open, Transparent and Merit‑based Recruitment (OTM‑R) principles.
