Responsibilities
* Design and implement security agents tailored specifically for real-time operating systems (RTOS) on microcontrollers, monitoring internals such as memory management, task scheduling, interrupt handling, and state transitions.
* Perform detailed research into innovative methods for introspection and security monitoring within constrained microcontroller environments.
* Prototype, evaluate, and refine embedded security technologies targeted for RTOS-based devices.
* Contribute actively to Exein’s open-source initiatives, sharing discoveries and enhancements beneficial to the broader embedded community.
* Ensure high-quality software development through meticulous code reviews, rigorous testing, and comprehensive documentation.
Requirements
* Deep expertise with internals of real-time microcontroller operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS, ESP32-IDF, Zephyr).
* Strong proficiency in low-level programming languages, specifically C, C++, or Rust.
* Solid understanding of embedded cybersecurity practices, including secure boot, memory protection mechanisms, and runtime monitoring strategies.
* Demonstrated experience in debugging and analyzing embedded firmware and system-level issues.
* Familiarity with Git-based collaborative workflows and CI/CD practices for embedded software development.
Preferred
* Experience utilizing introspection and tracing tools specifically designed for RTOS and microcontroller environments.
* Knowledge of IoT cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and anomaly detection methodologies relevant to embedded systems.
* Practical experience with scripting languages like Python for automation, testing, and analysis within embedded contexts.
