As a Senior Editor at The Lancet Public Health, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the journal’s editorial direction and advancing its mission to improve health equity and population wellbeing worldwide. You will be responsible for managing peer review, commissioning high-impact content, and writing editorials that influence public health discourse. The role demands strong critical thinking, scientific judgment, and a passion for global health. You will collaborate closely with an international team of editors and researchers, contribute to strategic initiatives, and uphold the journal’s reputation for editorial excellence, inclusivity, and scientific integrity.

Responsibilities
* Coordinating peer review of research papers and negotiating revisions.
* Reviewing comments and correspondence, and commissioning content to meet targets.
* Writing editorials.
* Cultivating public health connections, surveying literature, and identifying suitable authors.
* Representing the journal at events, staying current in public health through conferences, and identifying topics and authors.
* Sub-editing material from all sections of the journal to improve clarity and conform to style.
* Suggesting and developing new initiatives for the journal.
Requirements
* A PhD (in a relevant subject) is desirable.
* Good knowledge of public health and medical sciences.
* Fluent in English (oral and written) with excellent communication skills.
* Willingness and ability to travel.
