Embat is one of the fastest-growing startups in Europe, founded in 2021 to revolutionize how medium and large-sized enterprises manage their finances and cash flow in real time. What are we looking for?
As a Node.JS Engineer, you will work with our development team, product managers, and designers. We pride ourselves on working in an evolving and agile environment, with daily interaction with every team member. No bureaucracy or hierarchy. Our frontend is built with ReactJS. We use Figma for our proprietary Design System and UI Kit. Our backend runs on NodeJS and our platform on Google Cloud, enabling us to move fast, scale easily, and maintain resiliency.
What will you do?
* Collaborate with experienced developers and product managers to ideate, brainstorm, and build impressive financial features. Code diligently and think critically.
* Design, develop, and maintain APIs and web applications for robustness, scalability, and security.
* Test new features and enhancements to ensure responsiveness and efficiency, including troubleshooting, debugging, and documentation.
* Implement security and data protection measures to safeguard user data, confidentiality, and integrity.
* Contribute to building CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and testing practices.
* Work in a supportive environment that promotes Embat's culture and mission.
* Develop new skills and learn from other areas of expertise.
What are we looking for?
* 8+ years of experience as a Backend or FullStack engineer using JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
* Experience scaling distributed systems with large data volumes.
* Strong knowledge of software architecture design patterns and best practices.
* Responsibility, ownership, and impact-driven mindset. Advocates for quality across the organization.
* Attention to detail and thorough testing before deployment. Passionate about high quality.
* Highly organized with the ability to prioritize effectively.
* Team player: collaborative, versatile, humble, eager to learn and share knowledge.
* Ambitious and curious about new tools and solving complex problems.
* Background in Computer Science or related field.
* Proficiency in English and fluency in Spanish.
* Location: preferably Madrid or elsewhere in Spain.
Additional desirable skills:
* Familiarity with our tech stack: NodeJS, React, Redux, Express, Cypress, Jest, MongoDB, Python, GCP, GitLab CI/CD.
* Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
* Knowledge of testing coverage tools and quality monitoring.
* Experience in the financial industry or fintechs.
* International experience and multilingual abilities.
* Openness to opinions and constructive disagreement.
* Participation in open-source projects.
