Location: Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS)
Context: The Technologies for Biomedical Research Lab (TechBioLab) within the Life Sciences Department of BSC brings together specialised teams to enable research activities in the Life Sciences, focusing on infrastructures for centralized and federated analysis and learning, data management, and training activities in ELIXIR, INB and related initiatives.
Key Duties
* Organise and participate in technical meetings and follow-up across projects and initiatives where the TechBioLab participates.
* Increase the visibility of INB activities within ELIXIR platforms, communities and focus groups.
* Organise local and national training events and disseminate other events that may interest local and national bioinformatics communities.
* Communicate scientific and technical contributions from INB to stakeholders, from the general public to policy-makers to researchers.
Requirements
* Education: MSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
* Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: at least 2 years of professional experience in a similar role.
* At least 2 years of professional experience within European projects (pre-grant and post-grant).
* Good understanding of the Spanish and European ecosystem of stakeholders in the Life Sciences research community.
* Excellent command of social media to communicate scientific outputs.
* Experience in organising research-related events.
* Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
* Excellent report-writing and editing skills; strong personal soft skills (communication, enthusiasm, collaboration, proactivity, self-drive).
* Willing to travel occasionally; able to work autonomously; highly organised.
Conditions
* Location: The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department.
* Contract: Full-time contract (37.5h/week) with flexible working hours, training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, relocation support.
* Duration: Open-ended contract under project and budget conditions.
* Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st December per the collective agreement.
* Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; Barcelona cost of living.
* Starting date: 01/10/2025.

Recruitment process
The selection follows a competitive examination system (Concurso-Oposición) with two phases:
* Curriculum Analysis: evaluation of experience, degree, training and relevant information (40 points).
* Interview phase: assessment of technical competencies, knowledge, skills and personal competencies (60 points). A minimum of 30/60 is required to qualify.
The recruitment panel includes representation of women and follows OTM-R principles to ensure gender-balanced panels. Interviews include technical and administrative rounds, plus psychological and technical exercises where applicable. Final decisions include feedback to all participants.
