J Global Strategic Design and Solutions Engineer Data Center - Electrical
Join Iron Mountain as a Global Strategic Design and Solutions Engineer – Data Center (Electrical). In this role you will define and document the global electrical design standards, specifications, and reference designs that ensure consistency, efficiency, and scalability across our rapidly expanding portfolio of data centers. You will work closely with global engineering, construction, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement and deliver high‑reliability electrical power systems.
What You’ll Do (Core Responsibilities)
- Support the Senior Director of Global Design in developing data center solutions for hyperscale customers across new and existing facilities.
- Develop and manage reports to provide actionable insights for decision‑making.
- Collaborate with regional engineering, construction, and operations teams to translate business needs into scalable, global electrical design standards and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, industry best practices, and international electrical codes and regulations for all data center electrical systems.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of new electrical technologies and equipment to improve cost, performance, and sustainability of the data center fleet.
What You’ll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)
- 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering design for mission‑critical facilities, specifically large‑scale data centers.
- Strong knowledge of high‑reliability electrical power systems, medium and low voltage distribution, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and generator systems.
- Proven stakeholder management and technical leadership, driving alignment on complex design issues across diverse general teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and a Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
