Overview:
Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers a reliable, scalable, low-cost cloud infrastructure powering hundreds of thousands of businesses worldwide. We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support the growing demand for AWS cloud capacity in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).
Responsibilities:
* Support vendors, contractors, and teams in constructing and commissioning systems such as:
* Medium and low voltage power systems
* Generators
* HVAC and Chilled Water Systems
* Building Management Systems (BMS)
* Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
* Testing, balancing, pumps, and hydronic systems
Provide multi-discipline input into project scheduling, test script development, design, and planning. Review component submittals, lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and perform system-level testing. Ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety standards during commissioning. Maintain weekly project status reports and lessons learned documentation. This role involves managing multiple ongoing projects.

Join AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS), responsible for designing, delivering, and operating AWS global infrastructure, including data centers and critical equipment. Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to maintain high standards of safety, security, and efficiency.
The AWS Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) is an independent group of experienced engineers and project managers focused on quality assurance, operational review, and testing of equipment and construction practices, ensuring rapid delivery of quality infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure; Bachelor's in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant field preferred
* 3+ years of commissioning experience
* Certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or commissioning courses
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~50%)
* Own transportation for off-site meetings and visits (reimbursed)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; SharePoint experience preferred
* Strong communication, organization, and stress management skills
* Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructure
* Ability to interpret construction documents and develop/test procedures based on design specifications
