About SetoPay SL

SetoPay SL is a growing payment processing company working with merchants, acquiring banks, and payment partners across multiple jurisdictions. We provide payment gateway solutions and operational support to businesses worldwide, helping them process transactions efficiently and securely.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Risk & Payments Operations Specialist to join our team and play a key role in managing payment performance, transaction routing, and operational risk.

This position sits at the intersection of risk management, payment operations, analytics, and technical coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with our onboarding, finance, technical, and account management teams to optimize transaction flows, monitor performance, and support decision-making across our acquiring and payment network.

The ideal candidate has experience within the payments, acquiring, banking, or financial services industry and understands how transaction routing, risk controls, and payment performance impact merchants and processing partners.

Key Responsibilities

Payment Routing & Performance

* Monitor and optimize transaction routing across acquiring partners and payment channels.
* Analyze approval rates, decline ratios, and transaction performance.
* Identify routing opportunities to improve authorization rates and processing efficiency.
* Coordinate with technical teams regarding routing configurations and payment flows.

Risk Management & Monitoring

* Monitor merchant performance and transaction behavior.
* Review risk indicators including chargebacks, refunds, fraud trends, and processing anomalies.
* Escalate potential risks and recommend mitigation measures.
* Assist in maintaining risk controls and operational procedures.

Analytics & Reporting

* Prepare reports on transaction volumes, approval rates, chargeback ratios, and routing performance.
* Analyze datasets to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
* Provide actionable insights to management and operational teams.

Cross-Functional Coordination

* Work closely with onboarding teams during merchant setup and acquirer integrations.
* Coordinate with finance teams regarding settlements, reserves, and payment reconciliations.
* Liaise with technical teams on payment processing issues and operational improvements.
* Support key account managers with merchant performance reviews and operational matters.

Requirements

* Previous experience in payments, acquiring, banking, PSPs, risk management, or financial operations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Understanding of payment processing flows, transaction routing, and risk management principles.
* Experience working with transaction data and performance reporting.
* Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools, SQL, or analytics platforms is an advantage.
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
* Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience within a Payment Service Provider (PSP), acquiring bank, payment gateway, or risk department.
* Knowledge of chargebacks, fraud monitoring, reserves, MCCs, and merchant risk assessments.
* Experience with multi-acquirer environments and payment routing strategies.
* Familiarity with card scheme ecosystems (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
