Europe Bench Director of Finance - Based at W Barcelona
Join us as the Europe Bench Director of Finance at W Barcelona.
This role reports to ADOF Europe and supports the hotel finance team across Europe in operations and task force assignments. The position involves developing and implementing property-wide strategies to meet or exceed brand standards, ensuring financial performance aligns with strategic goals, and maximizing ROI.
Candidate Profile
Education and Experience
* 4-year bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or related field; Master’s preferred
* Fluent in English and Spanish or Italian
* Relevant experience as Director of Finance in the hotel industry
* Willingness to travel (up to 90%)
* Positive attitude and team-oriented approach
Core Work Activities
Strategic Planning and Decision Making
* Develop profit improvement strategies, analyze data, forecast sales, and create budgets
* Monitor sales versus projections and analyze wage differences for budgeting
* Develop annual operating budgets and support cost-saving initiatives
* Ensure strong financial controls and safeguard assets
* Lead development of annual business plans aligned with corporate strategy
Leading Finance Teams
* Lead, influence, and motivate the finance team; communicate strategic goals clearly
* Oversee audit processes and conduct performance appraisals
Stakeholder Engagement
* Communicate with owners and understand their priorities
* Advise GM and executive team on financial issues
* Manage cash flow and property working capital effectively
Financial Goals Development
* Accurately document profits and losses, monitor taxes, and ensure timely reporting
* Set and support achievement of performance and budget goals
Project and Policy Management
* Generate reports, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with policies and standards
Human Resources Activities
* Ensure cross-training, fair policy administration, and effective onboarding and development of team members
* Demonstrate adaptability, effective communication, problem-solving, and maintain a professional demeanor
Execution and Relationship Building
* Drive results, foster teamwork, develop customer relationships, and support a diverse and inclusive workplace
