CNIC - Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research is seeking a Financial Controller. Location: Madrid, Spain. Open call. Deadline for submitting applications: Tuesday, 21 October, 2025.
CNIC is a leading research center dedicated to excellence in cardiovascular diseases, with a 24,000 m2 research facility in Madrid, including a 6,000 m2 laboratory area and state-of-the-art infrastructure.
Functions
Develop activities in cost control, financial compliance, and internal audit, contributing to continuous improvement of financial processes.
Provide transversal support to the Finance Directorate areas: accounting and projects, public procurement, purchases and logistics.
Assist treasury management, including the preparation of payment remittances, monthly delinquency analysis, and preparation of financial reports.
Participate in the control of general, analytical, and budgetary accounting, cost management (control and pricing of services), public procurement, and economic-financial analysis.
Ensure regulatory compliance in the area.
Collaborate in responding to external requests.
Prepare reports for the Finance Directorate, Management, and auditing/regulatory bodies.
Advise and collaborate with other departments in budget preparation, audits, and other management processes.
Support the maintenance and evolution of the Foundation's ERP, contributing to its optimization and adaptation to operational needs.
Requisitos Imprescindibles
Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Finance (Licenciatura/Grado).
Minimum of three years of experience in related functions. (2 years for candidates with >66% disability; 2 years 6 months for >33% disability).

C1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Power BI valued.
C2. Experience in project financial management and justification to relevant bodies.
C3. Experience in analytical accounting and costing.
C4. Experience in treasury management, remittance preparation, and tax preparation.
C5. English knowledge.
C6. Experience in SAP.
C7. Experience in the financial controller role or equivalent with competencies in control, accounting, budgeting, reporting, internal audit, and/or compliance.

Positive Scoring and Disability
Agreement: adjust scoring by 1.5 points per year of experience for disability >66%, and 1.2 points per year for disability >33% when evaluating applicable criteria.

Plan de Selección
The CNIC follows a competitive selection process with a panel interview. The interview will be conducted with at least the top three candidates who achieve a total of at least 50 points from criteria C1–C7. The selected candidate will have at least 65 points across criteria C1–C8 and will be offered the position after the interview.
