Role Overview
Manufacturing Supervisor – Automotive division, Azuqueca de Henares (Spain). Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Supervisor will ensure a smooth production process with respect to quality, quantity, costs, delivery deadlines and safety. The position is crucial for plant operations and serves as the major link between the Production Manager and the direct workforce.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a group of Team/Shift Leaders, coaching and motivating the group to manage Operators in a shift.
Listen to people and give open, positive feedback to foster commitment and facilitate development.
Cascade company and operations information to Team Leaders and ensure effective communication to people.
Order raw materials and monitor raw material accuracy in production.
Focus on EHS – monitor safety and environmental performance, ensure plans are executed in the teams.
Schedule work for operators on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, and produce monthly reporting (scrap, lead variance).
Monitor 5S and continuous improvement tools, applying problem‑solving techniques as needed.
Monitor and report KPIs and interact with the maintenance department.
Manage the production area and related projects to ensure efficiency, conveying objectives, deadlines and expectations.
Apply CIP principles on the shop floor, participate in CIP and control room meetings, escalating issues that require support.
Suggest improvements and investment opportunities in the production area, seeking opportunities to streamline and improve operations.
Participate in physical inventories and ensure the highest product quality, enhancing customer satisfaction.
Stop the production process if needed to respect health and safety, preventing issues with standards compliance or product quality.
Define training and development plans for team members.
Qualifications
Technical or advanced engineering degree.
Five years or more experience in senior roles within a production plant;
experience in the automotive sector and/or assembly line production is an advantage.
Active participation in lean management and Six Sigma projects, sharing ideas of best practices.
Proven track record of managing direct/indirect labor, setting goals and generating strong team spirit.
Experience optimizing working time and schedules for the direct workforce.
Experience with lead and other raw materials used.
Strong focus on quality targets and customer satisfaction, managing customer quality requirements and applying necessary tools.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 norms.
Knowledge of legislation and application for the working area and EHS.
Business‑fluent English language and proactive communication skills.
IT skills and good knowledge of IT tools.
