Main function: the Funding & Proposal Officer (Pre-Award) will be responsible for the identification, analysis, preparation, coordination, and submission of funding proposals, mainly public (national, European, and international – including U.S. programs), and selectively private. The role focuses on the full pre-award lifecycle, from opportunity scouting to final submission, ensuring eligibility, compliance, coordination, and high-quality non-technical content.
Tasks to be performed:
- Actively scout and prospect new funding opportunities aligned with Arquimea’s strategic and technological priorities.
- Analyze calls, topics, and funding schemes to assess suitability, competitiveness, and strategic alignment.
- Support and coordinate Go / No-Go decision processes, including preparation of eligibility and feasibility assessments.
- Verify eligibility criteria (institutional, technical, financial, and consortium-related).
- Coordinate the preparation and consolidation of all non-technical proposal documentation (administrative, impact, implementation, ethics, gender, management sections, etc.).
- Support technical teams by collecting, structuring, and integrating non-scientific information into proposals.
- Coordinate and manage the creation of consortia when required, including identification, engagement, and communication with partners.
- Act as the main point of contact with partners, coordinators, and funding authorities during the pre-award phase.
- Manage proposal timelines, deliverables, and internal coordination.
- Prepare, upload, and submit proposals through the relevant funding platforms.
- Ensure compliance with internal FPO & PMO procedures and documentation standards.
Required skills, experience and candidate profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, Economics, International Relations, or related field.
- Training in R&D; funding programs (Horizon Europe, national funding schemes, international programs).
Specific Training / Knowledge Required in:
- Public funding ecosystems (EU, national, and international).
- Proposal preparation and submission processes.
- Eligibility rules, consortium structures, and compliance requirements.
- Strong written communication skills in English.
Additional Qualifications:
- Project management or proposal management certification.
- Basic corporate business development knowledge.
Minimum Required Experience:
- 2 – 4 years of experience in proposal preparation, funding management, or similar roles
