Senior Project Manager – Shipbuilding / Naval Projects
At Aresa Shipyard, we continue to grow and are looking to hire a Senior Project Manager to lead naval projects, coordinating engineering, production, purchasing, quality, subcontractors and the client, while ensuring compliance with deadlines, costs, quality standards and contractual scope.
Main Responsibilities
* Lead shipbuilding projects from planning through to final delivery.
* Coordinate the Technical Office, Production, Purchasing, Quality, Logistics and subcontractors.
* Monitor project schedules, contractual milestones, critical paths, costs and assigned resources.
* Follow up on workshop progress and anticipate technical, production or logistics bottlenecks.
* Coordinate inspections, FAT/SAT, commissioning, sea trials and final acceptance processes.
* Act as the main point of contact for the client, inspectors, classification societies and key suppliers.
* Manage scope changes, non-conformities, corrective actions and contractual documentation.
* Prepare internal progress reports, including risks and pending decisions.
Required Profile
* Degree in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial project management, preferably in the naval, defence, offshore, composite or metal sectors.
* Experience working in a shipyard/production environment and coordinating multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
* Strong technical judgement to interpret drawings, specifications, structures, onboard systems and installations.
* High level of professional English. Other languages will be valued.
* Proficiency in planning tools, Excel, technical documentation, Rhino and AutoCAD.
* Negotiation skills, clear communication, practical leadership and results-oriented mindset.
Especially Valued
* Previous experience in shipbuilding, professional vessels, defence, patrol boats, workboats or fishing vessels.
* Knowledge of composites, lamination, mechanics, electrical systems, hydraulics or propulsion.
* Experience with classification societies, client inspections, quality documentation and sea trials.
* Experience in high-paced production environments with several projects running in parallel.
