AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. This is a hands-on role in electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation. If you enjoy applying electrical and mechanical skills to solve problems, we’d like to meet you. Your work will help maintain one of the world\'s largest information system infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
* Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and foster a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, remediate safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own safety initiatives and projects to promote a strong safety culture.
* Operational experience with electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPS, switchgear, circuit breakers, automatic transfer switches, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, variable frequency drives, and transformers.
* Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
* Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/logs (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
* Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
Physical Requirements
* Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations).
* Ability to work in shifts (morning, late, and night).
* Perform physical tasks during the shift.
