**_ Duties and Responsibilities_**
In this role, responsibility is assumed for managing the assigned Pastry area within the kitchen, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality desserts and baked goods in full alignment with Six Senses brand standards and Eat With Six Senses philosophy.
The duties and responsibilities include:
- Manage all aspects of the assigned Pastry area, supervising the preparation, baking and finishing of desserts, breads and baked goods according to established recipes and brand standards.
- Assist the Pastry Chef in developing, testing and costing new recipes and menu items for the Pastry area, ensuring creativity, seasonality and alignment with Eat With Six Senses principles.
- Maintain updated and accurate recipes, production records and costing for all pastry products prepared.
- Ensure consistent product quality, presentation and portion control in line with luxury hospitality standards and guest expectations.
- Continuously focus on the innovation and rejuvenation of pastry offerings, assessing trends and guest feedback to ensure relevance and alignment with the Eat With Six Senses approach (natural ingredients, reduced sugar, balanced nutrition).
- Monitor the correct sorting of food and material waste, supporting efficient waste management and composting practices in collaboration with sustainability initiatives.
- Support purchasing practices that align with Six Senses nutrition and sustainability platforms, prioritizing local, seasonal and responsibly sourced ingredients.
- Promote a cost-conscious culture within the Pastry team through training and daily practice, ensuring optimal use of ingredients and minimizing waste.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene (HACCP) and sanitation standards at all times.
- Support the Pastry Chef in maintaining legal, statutory and financial requirements, documentation, reporting systems, safety protocols and operational controls within the Pastry section.
- Supervise and support junior pastry hosts, ensuring proper training, motivation and adherence to standards.
Contribute to a positive, collaborative and creative kitchen environment aligned with Six Senses values and service culture.
**_ Skills and Experience_**
To execute the position of Pastry Chef de Partie, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Culinary Arts, plus 2+ years of experience as a Pastry Cook, Pastry Chef de Partie, baker or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and culinary/kitchen operations experience with specialized training in pastry.
- Fluent in English; I understand that additional languages are preferred.
- Valid UE work permit.
