Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Accountant with solid experience in general accounting and Spanish tax regulations to join our Finance team. This is a full-time, on-site position in Madrid, offering the opportunity to work in an agile, tech-driven environment while providing accounting rigor and key support to our international growth.
Responsibilities
* Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
* Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) invoices
* Review and approve employee expenses in accordance with internal policy
* Post payroll journal entries and process salary payments
* Reconcile corporate credit cards and business expenses
* Ensure compliance with Spanish tax obligations (Forms 303, 349, 390, 111, 190, 115, 180)
* Perform subledger and intercompany reconciliations
* Maintain fixed assets and amortizations
* Complete INE statistical surveys
* Prepare weekly payment batches through the bank platform
* Actively participate in monthly financial closings
* Respond to internal accounting inquiries and ad hoc requests
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in Spanish companies
* Strong command of Spanish GAAP (PGC) and tax reporting
* Experience with accounting tools such as A3, SAP, or similar
* Attention to detail, autonomy, and strong organizational skills
* Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
* Fluent in both Spanish and English, written and spoken
