ROLE SUMMARY :
At the forefront of British education internationally, King’s College School La Moraleja is seeking to appoint an inspiring, collaborative and forward-thinking professional to the position of ‘Teacher of English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Cover’, on a fixed term basis, for pupils on our Paseo de Alcobendas site aged between 9 and 16.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
* To deliver the school’s English as an additional language intervention scheme from Year 5to 11.
* To contribute to the planning, resources and curriculum for the school´s English as anadditional language programme.
* To work collaboratively with the Head of Admissions to identify students who are eligiblefor the EAL intervention scheme, preparing a timetable that ensures all students receivethe support that they need throughout the academic year.
* To be an active member of the English department, supporting with EAL resources toenable differentiation and supporting the Secondary Head of English in the day to dayrunning of the department.
* To work collaboratively with the EAL teacher on Salvia site and ensure the smoothtransition of EAL pupils from Year 4 to Year 5.
* To cover planned and unexpected teacher absences in the school, as directed by thecover manager.

* Understanding of the use of assessment to inform planning and improve studentperformance
* Ability to engage, enthuse and motivate students
* Ability to organise, plan and prioritise effectively; managing responsibilities as aclassroom teacher
* Data analysis skills, and the ability to link attainment data to strengths and weaknesses incurriculum, pedagogy and teaching
