Pb Company Description /b /pp Wilderway (WW) is working to deliver investable nature restoration, by developing landscape ecosystem restoration projects aligned with rewilding principles, financed through the sale of high quality, high integrity carbon and nature credits. Our pipeline is strong, with projects at various stages of development - from feasibility studies, land contracting and carbon and nature credit development, right through to contracting multiple (corporate) credit buyers. We work with experienced local partners who are specialised in delivering nature restoration on the ground. /p p We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Data Scientist. /p pb Role /b /pp The Data Scientist will sit at the core of Wilderway’s technical work and will focus on: /polli supporting the development and maintenance of data pipelines and analytical tools, /lili assisting with the implementation and improvement of (carbon and nature) models across existing and new projects, /lili analysing and integrating monitoring and operational datasets, /lili supporting the management and improvement of WW’s data systems and infrastructure. /li /ol p The Data Scientist will report to the Impact and MRV Lead and will work in close collaboration with the Carbon Nature Data Scientist, Impact and MRV manager as well as the credit developers in WW team and with local teams responsible for project implementation in the field. /p pb Main Responsibilities /b /p p The main responsibilities of the Data Scientist are: /pp Data Analysis and Model Support /pulli Contribute to the development and maintenance of models for different standards and habitats, in collaboration with Impact and MRV team members. /lili Operation of models for specific projects, adapting them to the changing circumstances. /lili Assisting in updating the models after each monitoring cycle, based on new data. /li /ulp Data Management /pulli Contributing and implementing WW’s data management solutions. /lili Manage, clean, structure, and validate project datasets. /lili Contribute to building and maintaining data pipelines and databases. /lili Support the development of dashboards and data visualisation tools. /li /ulp Monitoring /pulli Support in analysing monitoring and operational datasets, ensuring data quality and /li /ulp consistency. /pulli Collaborate with team members to integrate field and external datasets into WW systems. /li /ul pb Knowledge and Experience /b /pulli Passionate about Wilderway’s mission, vision and objectives. /lili Dedicated to make a difference for nature restoration, with a commercial mindset. /lili Master#39;s degree or above in a relevant discipline (e.g., Environmental Engineering, Data Science). /lili1-3 years of working experience in developing and implementing models and data management. /lili Experience working with large and complex datasets, including data cleaning, transformation, and validation. /lili Proven work/study expertise in advanced use of GIS, remote sensing, R python, and in (ecological) modelling systems. /lili Experience in using version control systems (e.g. Git/GitHub) for collaborative development and code management. /lili Good communication skills, to develop user guidance and explaining concepts to non-technical audience. /lili Proactive and willing to learn in a fast-paced and mission-driven environment. /lili Interest in applying data science to real-world problems. /li /ul pb Requirements /b /pp• Location: based in The Netherlands or Spain (in proximity to Burgos). /pp• Hybrid workplace (2-3 working days per week from the office), with travel flexibility across Europe as required. /pp• Permit to work in Europe required. /p pb Remuneration /b /pp Wilderway offers competitive compensation packages, aligned with experience, qualifications, and the /pp role’s responsibilities.
