Position Overview
The Senior Underwriter collaborates with Account Management and Business Development teams to build and maintain broker relationships, aiming to turn trusted relationships into trading partnerships. The role focuses on securing profitable renewals and generating new business aligned with our strategy and risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
* Review complex or specialized cases, clearly communicate propositions internally and externally, and deliver timely underwriting decisions to secure profitable business within authority levels and risk appetite.
* Contribute to segment and local business development plans with Account Managers to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
* Manage and develop a portfolio to maximize profitable revenue from new and renewal business, including reviewing existing accounts and following up on new opportunities.
* Utilize all relevant information sources to meet broker and client needs, building long-term relationships to generate and close new, up-sell, and cross-sell opportunities.
* Negotiate and communicate underwriting decisions effectively, adhering to processes and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with Account Managers and team members to resolve broker and client complaints promptly, maintaining relationship quality.
