Human resources generalist - u.s. employee relations (guadalajara mx)

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Guadalajara. In this role, you will support multiple U.S.-based entities and play a key role across the entire employee lifecycle — including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and offboarding.

This position requires direct experience supporting employee relations for U.S.-based companies, with regular interaction and communication with American employees and managers. You will help ensure compliance with U.S. employment practices, support employee needs, and contribute to a positive, professional, and compliant work environment.

You will work closely with the Human Resources Director and collaborate with teams across the United States and Mexico, ensuring smooth HR operations and an excellent employee experience in a multicultural environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Relations & HR Support

Support employee relations for U.S.-based employees and managers, providing guidance and assistance on HR-related matters.

Serve as a point of contact for employees, helping resolve questions and issues professionally and efficiently.

Handle sensitive employee matters with empathy, discretion, and professionalism.

Support leave administration, employee separations, and HR-related documentation.

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable U.S. employment regulations.

HR Operations & Administration

Maintain accurate and organized employee records and HR documentation.

Process employee changes, including position, personal, and compensation updates, in BambooHR and ADP.

Enter new hire information into HR systems accurately and in a timely manner.

Support benefits administration, including enrollments, updates, invoice approvals, and employee communication.

Assist with HR administrative tasks such as document preparation, correspondence, invoice coding, and system updates.

Recruitment & Employee Lifecycle

Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate coordination, and onboarding processes.

Assist in onboarding new employees and ensuring a smooth integration experience.

Support offboarding processes and related HR documentation.

HR Programs, Projects & Compliance

Assist in the implementation and administration of HR programs, policies, and initiatives.

Support audits, compliance reporting (including EEO-1), and HR projects.

Assist with performance review cycles, job description updates, and employee engagement initiatives.

Stay current on HR best practices, employment law updates, and HR technology tools.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

5+ years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist.

Proven experience supporting employee relations for U.S.-based companies.

Direct experience working and communicating with American employees and managers.

Strong understanding of U.S. workplace culture, professional standards, and HR practices.

Experience with HR systems such as ADP, BambooHR, or Workday.

Advanced English proficiency (professional working level required).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Tech-savvy and comfortable using digital tools and AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and similar platforms.

Preferred Qualifications (Big Plus)

Experience with invoicing processes.

Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid.

Experience supporting employees under California or Washington employment laws.

Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards.

Familiarity with performance improvement processes such as 80/20 PI.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

Proficiency in Adobe tools.

Experience using HRIS platforms such as ADP, BambooHR, or Workday.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
