Your Role
As a Security Coordinator, you will support the implementation, coordination, and enforcement of Digital Realty's global physical security framework at the local Data Center level. Acting as a key partner to the Security Manager, you will serve as the eyes, hands, and ears of the security organization in Barcelona—providing on-the-ground oversight, situational awareness, and rapid response. You will help ensure secure, compliant, and resilient operations across all sites by supporting audits, training, access management, and day-to-day security activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Security Manager in applying global security policies and requirements across local Data Centers (DCs).
* Coordinate and monitor security training for internal teams and external security service providers.
* Conduct scheduled security audits and inspections; support customer, internal, and on-demand audits.
* Act as the first escalation point for security-related operational issues (e.g. visitor access tickets, security alerts, customer inquiries).
* Support emergency response activities, including security tests, incident simulations, and emergency drills.
* Coordinate and support site visits, ensuring full adherence to security standards and procedures.
* Manage access rights and permissions for visitors, contractors, and vendors.
* Support the operation and monitoring of physical security systems, including CCTV and access control systems.
* Prepare regular security reports for Operations teams and customers.
* Provide input to the Security and Quality Management teams on security process improvements and risk mitigation actions.
* Coordinate external security vendors and support day-to-day people and service management activities.
* Ensure compliance with physical security standards and programs including PCI-DSS, SOC, ISO27001, and applicable local requirements.
Your Profile
* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a Security function, preferably within critical or high-availability environments.
* HPS Certification
* Experience in physical security, preferably within a Data Center (DC) environment.
* Hands-on experience with:
o Physical security systems and procedures
o Security audits, emergency drills, and security awareness training
* Ability to identify security and business continuity risks and recommend appropriate controls.
* Strong knowledge of security management principles and best practices / security operations, compliance, and incident management.
* Fluent in Spanish & English / Catalan (would be nice)
* Great Communication skills
* Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented
* Strong sense of ownership and accountability
* Cooperative and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders
