Quality Control Inspector – QC Inspector – Production Manifold Services
Duration: 1-year renewable, up to early 2028. Location: Spain (Aviles). Status: Residential.
Missions / Service Dimensions
The Service Provider will deliver QC services at the production manifolds worksite in Aviles, Spain. They will ensure that Contractor (CTR) supplies Production Manifolds and Foundations on time, following TotalEnergies' HSE policies and required quality levels.
Activities
The Service Provider will liaise with CPY Subsea HSE Lead, CPY Quality Lead, CPY Materials & Welding Lead and CPY Delivery Lead.
HSE and Compliance
* Fully comply with site security, health and safety instructions, stay vigilant and maintain continuous awareness of hazards and surroundings.
* Accountable for demonstrating exemplary behaviour regarding HSE rules & requirements, including trainings, and enforcing HSE execution decisions/directions taken by CPY Subsea HSE Lead.
* Report any issue/anomalies using the system in place at the facility and use the Total Stop Work policy as necessary.
* Ensure that risk assessments are performed as and when necessary, that management of change is adhered to and that toolbox talks are conducted efficiently.
* Adopt and demonstrate exemplary behaviour regarding Company Ethics and "Code of Conduct" policy and promote the re‑reinforcement of the Anti‑Corruption Program.
Work Tasks
The Service holder will control that the work performed by CTR and sub‑CTR is in line with CPY and Project Specifications for Production Manifolds and Foundations in terms of quality.
* Conduct thorough inspections of welds and welding processes to ensure compliance with applicable WPS/PQR, codes, standards and specifications.
* Perform welding inspection before, during and after as per ISO 3834‑2 requirements.
* Possess extensive inspection knowledge and experience (min 10 years) in CRA materials such as Super duplex (Pipe/Forging and HIPPED), Inconel 625 and LAS (F22).
* Have excellent inspection experience in buttering, overlay and girth welding of Inconel 625 and Alloy 59 consumables.
* Utilize advanced inspection techniques including visual, ultrasonic, PAUT, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant inspection and radiographic testing to assess weld quality as per ASME/DNV code requirements.
* Interpret WPS and PQR to validate conformance at site during production.
* Perform inspection on incoming production materials against requirements and mill certificates.
* Participate in root cause analysis for welding defects and develop corrective action plans with project welding engineer and site production teams.
* Identify and raise comments highlighting deviations, unacceptable or unjustified quality issues related to welding that could affect SPS equipment during fabrication, installation and production at site.
* Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation for compliance on a weekly basis.
* Collaborate with Company Site Rep and CPY material engineer on any welding/NDT/material issues at site.
* Stop work in case of non‑conformity and re‑assess before resuming.
* Discuss with contractor/sub‑contractors in case of issues/unconformity during the control program to find acceptable solutions that do not penalize the delivery schedule but still meet quality standards.
* Ensure that unconformities are driven towards closure in a timely manner without impacting the delivery schedule.
* Follow up site welding activities and provide feedback to the project team.
* Participate in company and contractor audits and follow up on closure of identified issues.
Context & Environment
The activity takes place during the execution phase of a major project in Suriname – the Suriname GPI, a multidisciplinary team coordinating the project managed by TotalEnergies on the Deep and Shallow Water discoveries of offshore Suriname Block 58.
The technical challenges of the project involve reservoir development and management, FPSO, and subsea production/injection systems.
The Suriname Team aims to maximize economic results by optimizing reserves, schedule, reducing costs and greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining technical quality, with high HSE requirements.
Qualifications & Experience Required
* Previous experience with Production Manifolds and Subsea Structures.
* 15+ years of experience in welding inspection with strong understanding of welding processes and techniques.
* Certification as a Welding Inspector (CWI) from a recognized body (CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 or equivalent).
* Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) certifications: level 3 (UT & PAUT, RT, DPI).
* Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
* Strong analytical skills with ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex quality issues.
* Languages: Fluent in English; Spanish/French is a plus.
