The Opportunity
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a senior engineering leader to influence the strategic direction, technical excellence, and operational effectiveness of a large engineering organization. You will mentor and guide engineering leaders, shape leadership practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and aligned execution. By partnering closely with Product and cross-functional stakeholders (Data, Product, Business, Operations and C-Levels), you will ensure engineering efforts are strategically aligned and deliver meaningful business value. You’ll also drive the evolution of technical architecture, champion high standards for engineering excellence, and promote best practices in system design, security, and operational maturity. This position is ideal for a systems thinker who excels at influencing at scale and driving impact through leadership, strategy, and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspiring Leadership & Team Development: Guide and mentor a substantial engineering group (approx. 40+ engineers);
develop and refine leadership methodologies;
champion continuous performance development and a culture of constructive feedback;
establish clear expectations for managerial roles aligned with company objectives (OKRs);
cultivate an inclusive,motivating environment.
* Strategic Acumen & Business Alignment: Forge strong partnerships with Product to achieve key business objectives;
use data-informed methods to identify challenges, assess impact, and formulate strategic solutions;
ensure open communication with teams about priorities and choices;
understand business andfinancial principles to deliver tangible value;
articulate and execute the strategic roadmap and OKRs.
* Technical Excellence & Operational Prowess: Lead the evolution of technical architecture;
uphold high quality standards and improve operational maturity;
promote best practices in incident response, system design, security, and performance optimization;
architect and implementscalable, maintainable, cost-conscious infrastructure and application frameworks.
What We’re Looking For
* 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles influencing large-scale engineering organizations (approx. 40+ engineers).
* Demonstrated ability to mentor and support engineering leaders, foster strong team cultures, and drive performance across complex technical environments—without direct line management.
* Comprehensive expertise in engineering and product strategy, architectural design, operational excellence, and cross-departmental project execution.
* Experience collaborating with Product and cross-functional partners to align initiatives with business objectives and base decisions on data.
* Strong technical background in modern cloud infrastructure, scalable system design, and cost optimization.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build trust at all levels of the organization.
