As Head of the Data Center, you will play a key role:
you will be responsible for implementing the IT strategy, managing the IT infrastructure, and leading a dedicated team. You will serve as the central point of contact for IT matters and advise university management on strategic IT issues. The Head of Data Center has creative scope for the strategic realignment of the IT department.Your main areas of responsibility:

Advising the Vice President for University Development and Digitalization in her role as Presidential CIODeveloping and implementing the IT strategy in close coordination with the CIOFurther developing the IT service portfolio, aligning it with university needs, managing the IT infrastructure, and implementing security conceptsBudget responsibility, IT controlling of the department, and resource optimizationOperational & management tasks:
Managing the current four-person team, developing team structures and processesActing as an escalation point for 2nd level supportResponsibility for IT security, data backup, IT data protection, and emergency managementAdvancing the area with technological innovations, procedures, and operational securityPlanning, managing, and monitoring departmental goalsDeveloping and overseeing service level agreementsManaging IT projects collaboratively with the CIO and DTOProactive communication within the team, with the university, and with partnersYour profile:
Completed relevant university degree (Master's or diploma) in computer science or a comparable fieldOr a university degree (Bachelor or FH diploma) in computer science or comparable, with at least four years of professional IT experienceSeveral years of management experience in strategic and operational management is advantageousExtensive specialist knowledge and practical experience in IT, ideally in Networks, Linux/Windows Server, Cloud technologies/infrastructures, RHEL/CentOS, Debian, UbuntuSolid knowledge and experience with servers, storage, virtualization, IT operations, service desk, IT security, data protection, and network infrastructure (TCP/IP, switching, routing, firewalls, VPN)Experience coordinating IT projectsProficiency in (multi-)project managementExcellent German language skills and good English knowledgeExperience with university structures is a plusHigh initiative, analytical skills, and service orientationNegotiating skills and a strong sense of responsibilityAbility to work well in a teamOur offer:
