NN Digital Hub Iberia is a subsidiary company of Nationale Nederlanden Group located in Madrid, Spain. We deliver IT services and solutions for the different international Business Units from Nationale Nederlanden Group.
We are looking for a motivated senior Data Governance Platform Engineer.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience deploying and scaling Unity Catalog (UC) in large enterprise environments, along with deep expertise in data governance frameworks and tools. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a secure, well-governed, and high-performance data governance and management environment across the organization.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing and innovating the Databricks Unity Catalog and Collibra Data platforms used across the company within the focus area of Data Governance.
* Supporting and maintaining communication with data engineers and other technical stakeholders to facilitate the use of these platforms, enabling the creation of innovative data solutions and products with Data Governance solutions.
* Implementing data lineage tracking, audit logging, and access monitoring to ensure transparency and compliance.
* Enabling self-service data access capabilities aligned with business needs and data protection standards.
* Partnering with cross-functional teams to integrate Unity Catalog with other data governance and management tools (e.g., Collibra, RDM).
* Enhancing infrastructure availability and stability, including monitoring, reliability management, and automations through CI/CD pipelines on Azure Cloud.
* Carrying out Operations & Service Delivery, including Change Management, Configuration Management, Lifecycle Management (LCM), and resolving complex incidents and problems.
* Maintaining Platform Security and Compliance according to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree and thinking level.
* 5+ years of experience in data platform engineering or data governance roles in large-scale enterprise environments.
* 1+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks Unity Catalog, including configuration, automation, and policy enforcement.
* Proficiency in Python, SQL, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
* Understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging concepts.
* Knowledge of data access patterns, RBAC/ABAC models, and security best practices for cloud data platforms.
* Good command of spoken and written English.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
* Experience working in an agile (Scrum) environment.
