Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager, Northern Europe to oversee financial operations across the UK, Germany, The Netherlands and the Nordics.
Reporting to the Group CFO, this role will be responsible for financial reporting, controlling, budgeting and compliance, while acting as a key business partner to local management teams.
A central part of the role is to ensure consistent adoption of Group Finance policies and processes across the region—including Treasury, OTC, OTP and accounting—and to act as the operational bridge between local teams and the corporate finance organisation.
The ideal candidate is a strategic yet operational finance leader, capable of managing day-to-day finance operations with the support of local internal or outsourced teams, while driving continuous improvement, standardization, automation and insight-driven decision-making in a dynamic international environment.

Regional Responsibilities (Direct Ownership)
- Ensure consistent application of Group Finance policies across Treasury, OTC, OTP and accounting processes in all countries.
- Act as the key operational link between local finance teams and Group Finance, ensuring proper rollout, adoption and monitoring of corporate processes, controls and systems.
- Improve, document and standardize financial workflows across the region, ensuring alignment with global frameworks and internal control requirements.
- Work closely with Global Finance to harmonize practices, optimise controls and strengthen process discipline.
- Lead or contribute to systems improvements or implementations (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, TMS, etc.).
- Ensure proper documentation, audit trails and process evidence are maintained across all countries.
Local Finance Supervision (Through Local Teams or External Advisors)
Financial Management & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly closing for each country in the region.
- Supervise the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS and Group Finance requirements.
- Drive annual budgeting and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Analyse variances and partner with local teams to define corrective actions.
- Provide regular performance reporting, insights and commentary to Group Finance and senior management.
- Support cash-flow forecasting, working capital optimisation, and regional treasury needs.
- Ensure consistent application of Group policies across accounting, OTC, OTP and treasury processes, acting as the key operational link with the corporate finance team.
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Lead and coordinate finance teams in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands; and manage external accounting, tax and payroll advisors in the Nordics and other permanent establishments where internal teams are not present.
- Oversee local execution of accounting, OTC, OTP and treasury workflows, ensuring accuracy, discipline and compliance with Group standards.
- Oversee statutory, tax and audit requirements, ensuring full compliance with local regulations.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and other external partners.
- Ensure accurate tax filings and support periodic VAT and corporate tax processes in coordination with the Group Tax Team.
- Monitor and enforce internal controls across all finance processes, ensuring consistency across countries and alignment with Group Finance
Business Partnering
- Act as the finance liaison to local business leaders, enabling informed strategic decision-making.
- Provide profitability analysis by client, service line and business unit.
- Support evaluation of new business opportunities, commercial initiatives, M&A; integration actions and structural changes.
- Ensure financial discipline and alignment of local teams with Group Finance priorities and timelines.
Requirements
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in finance roles in international environments, with proven experience managing multi-regional finance operations.
- Experience with service-based organisations is preferred (digital marketing, advertising or media is a strong plus).
- Hands-on experience supporting or overseeing Germany and at least one other region (UK, the Netherlands or Nordics).
- Proven experience contributing to or leading ERP implementation and migration projects.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and international accounting standards.
- Business-oriented mindset, high analytical capacity, and hands-on leadership style.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, and entrepreneurial environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a Big Four or recognized audit firm.
- Demonstrated ability to lead regional finance projects and standardize processes across countries. Experience in post-merger integration or in M&A-driven; environments would be a significant asset.
- Familiarity working in PE-backed environments.
Languages
- Fluent English is required; proficiency in either German or Dutch is also mandatory.
- Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region covered by the role is appreciated; and Spanish would also be highly beneficial for this role.
Technical Skills
- Strong ERP expertise (Oracle NetSuite strongly preferred).
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel and financial modeling. Experience working with Google Suite and automation tools is very desiderable..
- Experience with FP&A; applications (ideally Abacum) and TMS platforms (Embat preferred) is a big plus.
- Comfortable with the regular, professional use of generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini or similar) to support analysis, documentation and workflow optimisation.
