Job Description
Job Purpose
The Head of Quality for Industry Business Unit (BU) is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of quality control and assurance to ensure that products and services meet or exceed customer expectations. They are responsible for ensuring that all Industry manufacturing sites and design control centers comply with relevant ISO standards and can interact with appropriate regulatory bodies. They ensure customer complaints are handled in a compliant and timely manner with robust root cause investigations and corrective actions. This role requires strong customer focus, leadership skills, a deep understanding of quality management systems, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
1. Quality Management Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain an effective QMS aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Establish processes for complaint handling, quality control, document control, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement.
2. Scope: Oversight of quality responsibilities across Industry manufacturing processes in Valencia, Shanghai, Hungerford, Haag, and Atlanta.
3. Quality Control: Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure products and services meet quality standards. Establish inspection and testing protocols, monitor product quality, and address non-conformities.
4. Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to establish and maintain supplier quality management processes. Conduct supplier audits and evaluate performance.
5. Quality Assurance: Develop strategies to prevent defects and ensure compliance with customer requirements. Define quality metrics and KPIs, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
6. Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement using tools like Six Sigma and Lean. Lead initiatives to enhance processes, optimize efficiency, and reduce waste.
7. Customer Satisfaction: Monitor feedback, address complaints, and ensure customer requirements are met.
8. Change Control: Ensure robust and efficient change control processes within the industry business.
9. Training and Development: Provide training on quality standards and foster a culture of quality awareness.
10. Compliance: Stay updated on industry standards and regulations, ensure organizational compliance, and coordinate audits and certifications.
11. Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor the quality team, set performance goals, and promote professional growth.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
* Proven experience in quality management roles with multi-site or global scope
* In-depth knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean)
* Knowledge of relevant quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and industry regulations
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Ability to lead cross-functional teams
* Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement
* Excellent organizational and project management skills
* Languages: Spanish and English (Business Fluent)
