Description
This role is responsible for implementing and executing logistics plans, processes, and policies related to the storage and movement of materials and finished goods. It involves ensuring alignment with logistics optimization goals, managing inventory control, and supporting logistics operations through continuous process improvement. The position also contributes to the development and administration of logistics programs, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and plays an active role in driving transformation and enhancing efficiency across logistics practices..
Key Responsibilities
1. Champion customer-centric freight execution by ensuring high service levels from both freight forwarders and factories to the markets.
2. Monitor and analyze service failures and performance gaps, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement improvement initiatives.
3. Actively track shipments in transit and proactively address disruptions, including network failures, geopolitical events, and other transport-related issues.
4. Drive continuous improvement in customer satisfaction through enhanced visibility, responsiveness, and alignment of freight operations.
5. Collaborate closely with freight forwarders to ensure proper booking processes and adherence to service expectations.
6. Identify and resolve root causes of transport inefficiencies, such as missed pickups, suboptimal routing, or vessel scheduling issues.
7. Align operational execution with the capabilities and constraints of the shipping network, ensuring optimal use of purchased services.
8. Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and external logistics partners to ensure seamless freight execution and communication.
9. Support the development and implementation of KPIs and dashboards to monitor freight performance and customer service levels.
Skills & Qualifications
10. Strong customer-centric mindset, with a focus on service level performance and customer satisfaction in a logistics context.
11. Proven experience in freight execution, ideally with a background in working for or closely with freight forwarders.
12. Solid understanding of freight booking processes, international shipping networks, and common causes of transport disruptions.
13. Ability to interpret logistics KPIs and performance data, identifying trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
14. Experience in monitoring freight execution and delivery performance against global logistics standards and service level agreements (SLAs).
15. Skilled in proactive issue resolution, including managing exceptions, delays, and geopolitical or network-related disruptions.
16. Excellent communication and relationship management skills to act as a liaison between factories, freight forwarders, and market teams.
17. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, ideally with experience in FMCG, logistics service providers, or other high-volume, service-sensitive industries.
18. Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS) and real-time visibility tools is a strong advantage.
19. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate operational insights into actionable initiatives.
20. Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus., supply chain operations, and industry best practices
21. Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP): Certification from DAMA International is a plus
22. Technical proficiency in data management systems (ERPs and data governance tools)
23. Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
