5V Tech are working with a global technology company building large-scale analytics and data platforms that support advanced navigation and mapping systems used by millions of users worldwide.
Our client is looking for a Staff Software Architect to join a highly technical engineering group focused on large-scale data processing, system architecture, and analytics infrastructure.
This is a primarily architecture-focused role, centred around designing scalable systems, improving data flows across complex environments, and helping engineering teams simplify and optimise large-scale platforms.
Designing scalable distributed systems and cloud-based data platforms
* Building and improving data lakes, pipelines, and large-scale data flows
* Driving architectural decisions around scalability, reliability, and performance
* Improving complex system interactions and data movement across platforms
* Large-scale distributed systems and data engineering challenges
* Modern Azure cloud environment
* High-impact work used at global scale
Experience as a Software Architect, Staff Engineer, or Technical Architect
* Strong experience with Python and Scala
* Strong background in software and data architecture, including data lakes, data pipelines, and large-scale data processing
* Experience designing scalable distributed systems and data platforms
* Experience with Azure cloud technologies
* Experience working with complex data flows and system integrations at scale
* Strong understanding of software engineering best practices across the SDLC
* Experience with event-driven architectures or big data frameworks
* Experience working with analytics or data-intensive platforms
* Java experience
