Job Description Summary:
Novartis is seeking a skilled and experienced Storage Engineer to join our Core Infrastructure Services/Engineering team. In this role, you will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining storage solutions, with a specific focus on Scale-Out NAS technologies like DELL PowerScale, NetApp, and respective cloud storage offerings. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of storage systems in hybrid environments.
Responsibilities:
* Designing: Responsible for designing scale-out NAS solutions with seamless integration into cloud environments.
* Deployment: Involved in deploying storage systems, working closely with teams to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud environments. This includes configuring hardware, software, and networking components to meet storage requirements.
* Performance Tuning and Optimization: Analyze and optimize storage system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement adjustments to enhance performance.
* Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and cloud architects to ensure integration and performance. Create and maintain documentation related to storage infrastructure, configurations, and procedures for both on-premises and cloud storage.
Experience Required:
* Extensive experience designing and implementing scale-out NAS solutions, such as DELL PowerScale, NetApp, etc., with familiarity with respective cloud storage offerings.
* Strong understanding of storage technologies, including NAS protocols (NFS, CIFS, SMB, S3), multiprotocol file systems, data platforms, and storage architectures.
* Proficiency in storage management tools for provisioning, monitoring, and performance analysis.
* Familiarity with cloud storage technologies and platforms, including AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, or Google Cloud Storage, and their integration with on-premises storage.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve storage issues in hybrid environments.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
