Role Introduction
As an Abogado LegalTech (IT Contracts), you’ll play a key role at the intersection of law and technology, supporting complex digital transformation and IT service initiatives. This role focuses on the full lifecycle of technology contracting, from structuring and negotiating sophisticated outsourcing and cloud agreements to advising on data protection, cybersecurity, and electronic signature frameworks.
Operating as a trusted legal advisor to internal stakeholders, technology teams, and business leaders, you’ll help secure robust contractual positions while enabling innovation and compliant growth. What You’ll Do
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of IT and technology service contracts with clients, subcontractors, and providers, including outsourcing, consulting, and turnkey project agreements.
* Structure, negotiate, and adapt contractual clauses for software licensing, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and other cloud‑based service models, ensuring balanced risk allocation and commercial viability.
* Review RFPs, private tenders, and public procurement documents (pliegos públicos), providing clear legal risk assessments and recommendations for bid and contract strategy.
* Advise on data protection compliance in technology projects, including contractual safeguards, data processing agreements, and alignment with applicable privacy regulations.
* Provide legal guidance on electronic signature, qualified trust service providers (PSC), and cybersecurity requirements, ensuring contracts and projects meet relevant regulatory standards.
* Support queries and requirements relating to public tenders, including special conditions, eligibility criteria, and administrative appeals or challenges linked to procurement processes.
* Collaborate closely with business, commercial, and technical teams, providing pragmatic legal advice in Spanish and English to facilitate negotiations and close complex IT deals.
What You Bring
* More than 5 years of post‑qualification experience as a lawyer, with a strong focus on IT, technology, or digital services contracting.
* Solid legal knowledge and proven hands‑on experience drafting and negotiating complex IT contracts, including service, outsourcing, maintenance, and turnkey project agreements.
* Deep familiarity with software licensing models and cloud service contracts (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), including SLAs, data security, and liability frameworks.
* Experience working with RFPs, private contracting processes, and public procurement documentation (pliegos), including risk analysis and contract adaptation.
* Strong expertise in data protection law and its practical application within technology projects and service delivery arrangements.
* Knowledge of electronic signature regulations, trust service providers, and cybersecurity‑related legal and compliance frameworks.
* Very high level of English, with the ability to negotiate, draft, and advise confidently in both English and Spanish.
Nice to Have
* Experience or understanding of the energy, industrial, and shared services (SSFF) markets and their specific contracting practices.
* Exposure to public tender special requirements, including responding to queries, managing compliance obligations, and handling administrative appeals or resources related to public procurement.
* Familiarity with large‑scale digital transformation, IT infrastructure, or managed services projects from a legal perspective.
* Previous experience in a LegalTech‑oriented environment or collaborating closely with technical and cybersecurity teams.
