ERS / SEPAR Joint Long-Term Research Fellowship (Spain | Respiratory Medicine)
The ERS / Sociedad Española de Neumología y Cirugía Torácica (SEPAR) Joint Long-Term Research Fellowship from the European Respiratory Society (ERS) supports early-career researchers and clinicians to carry out basic, translational, or clinical research projects in Spain.
Applicants must be ERS members, residents in European countries (excluding Spain), or overseas. Europe is defined by the World Health Organization.
Applications are open to candidates of all ages, targeting researchers with at least 2 years of advanced research experience. Those who have taken career breaks, including parental leave, periods working outside research, or unemployment, are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility Criteria:
* Active engagement or experience in the respiratory field.
* Postgraduates holding a university degree (PhD or MD-PhD) in a field related to respiratory medicine. Graduated with such degrees by the application deadline.
* If without a PhD or MD-PhD, applicants must have at least an MSc or MD and demonstrate 2 years of full-time research experience.
* Applicants currently enrolled in postgraduate degrees (PhD, MD-PhD, or equivalent) are not eligible.
* Postgraduate scientists such as immunologists, biologists, geneticists, pharmacologists, biophysicists, chemists involved in respiratory science are eligible.
* Qualified healthcare professionals (non-MD) working in respiratory health (nurses, physiotherapists, respiratory technologists, allied professionals) with at least an MSc and 2 years of full-time research experience.
Applicants must not have worked or resided in the host institution in Spain for more than 3 consecutive months in the last 3 years.
The fellowship duration is from 6 to 24 months.
