Your role and work environment:
The Tribe Lead Payments is responsible for defining and executing the vision and strategy for the Payments domain, ensuring an outstanding customer experience, maximizing payments profitability and complying with regulatory requirements. This role leads multiple squads within the tribe, fostering collaboration, innovation, and delivery excellence in an agile environment.
Your key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Set a clear vision and roadmap for the Payments Tribe, aligned with organizational goals.
Represent the tribe in leadership forums and external regulatory bodies.
P&L focus
Understands and tracks all relevant payment levers (e.g. penetration, usage) and unitary costs
Acts on available levers to maximize payments P&L by defining new products, processes or prices
Customer Experience & Innovation:
Deliver best-in-class payment journeys for customers, with particular attention to service availability
Champion a customer-centric approach and leverage market insights to drive innovation.
People & Culture:
Build and lead high-performing squads, fostering collaboration and continuous learning.
Act as a role model for ING's Orange Code and agile way of working.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee end-to-end delivery of payment solutions, ensuring quality and timely execution.
Manage dependencies across squads and other tribes, removing impediments.
Own associated Critical Business Services (CBS) to ensure Operational Resilience
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and industry bodies (Redsys, Bizum, Iberpay, Mastercard...).
Particularly, collaborate with Daily Banking & Savings Tribe to ensure an outstanding experience in customers' daily banking activity
Contribute to the Global Payments community within ING by sharing best practices and supporting global led initiatives
Ensure alignment with risk, compliance, and technology teams.

Domain Expertise:
Deep understanding of payment systems, processes, and regulatory landscape.
Leadership:
Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
Technical Acumen:
Familiarity with modern payment technologies and integration (e.g., APIs, microservices).
Strategic Thinking:
Ability to define long-term vision while ensuring short-term delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all levels.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Technology, or related field.
10+ years of experience in payments or financial services, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
Strong track record in agile transformation and product delivery.
