Exide Technologies’ Motion division develops top-quality traction batteries and chargers for electric vehicles and drives 3 Battery Recycling centers in Europe. Our innovative lead-acid battery recycling is currently being enhanced with recycling for lithium-ion batteries.
We prioritize environmentally friendly processes, achieving a 99% recovery rate of lead-acid battery materials, which are fully reintegrated into new batteries.
For our growing Motion division in Zaragoza or Barcelona (Spain), at the earliest possible date we are looking for two CAD Designers / Mechanical CAD Specialists.
We are seeking two highly skilled CAD Designers with strong experience in mechanical design and sheet metal modelling for the construction of traction batteries for industrial trucks.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise 3D models, assemblies and technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor. Experience with advanced CAD tools (such as CATIA and SolidWorks) will be a significant advantage and highly valued.
Background in the battery industry is welcome, but not mandatory.
Initial training period of approximately six months will take place in Barcelona and will include frequent travel within Europe. After initial training, travelling will be reduced to 2-3 days per month. Work location may either be Zaragoza or Barcelona.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies with Autodesk Inventor, focusing on sheet metal components and mechanical parts
Produce accurate technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and fabrication
Ownership and maintenance of bill of materials related to the designed batteries
Collaborate with product management, application engineering and production teams to ensure design feasibility and compliance with requirements
Support design optimization and implement design changes based on prototyping and feedback
Contribute to design reviews and proposals for continuous improvement
Desired Qualifications
Proven experience operating Autodesk Inventor for mechanical and sheet metal design
Strong understanding of drafting, detailing, GD&T;, and manufacturing requirements
Fluent in Spanish and English
Technical or Engineering degree
Knowledge of CATIA V5/V6 or SolidWorks in a professional environment (Highly preferred)
Experience in producing designs for industrial machinery or fabrications (Highly preferred)

Ability to translate concepts into manufacturable CAD designs
Strong documentation and communication skills
Detail-oriented with a practical understanding of production processes and related tolerances
