We are hiring an Accountant for a leading multinational in the chemical sector in Barcelona !

What will you do in this role?
* Execute the month-end closing process in SAP, following IFRS standards and internal accounting guidelines.
* Analyze cost and margin variances, performing adjustments and system corrections.
* Review and analyze Plant and Regional SG&A fixed costs on a monthly basis.
* Post month-end journal entries: provisions, reclassifications, accruals, revenue recognition, etc.
* Handle payroll-related entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Prepare financial reports in compliance with local requirements (Intrastat, VAT, statistical reports...).
* Carry out accounting procedures related to fixed assets, CAPEX, and daily cash application.
* Support external audit processes by documenting all monthly closing activities
What do you need to succeed?
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
* Minimum 5 years of professional accounting experience in an international environment.
* Strong knowledge of SAP and Business Warehouse reporting tools.
* Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
* Fluent in English (mandatory). Additional European languages (French, Polish, Finnish, or Spanish) are a plus.
