Description
The 'Stein-based goodness-of-fit TEsts for Non-Euclidean Data' (STENED) project seeks to hire two fully-funded PhD fellows starting in January 2025 (preferably) or June 2025. The project aims to leverage Stein's method to develop an inferential toolbox for distribution models on non-Euclidean supports, involving advanced mathematical and computational methods.
The project is funded through the 'AEI-DFG Call for Joint Spanish-German Research Projects' and is a collaboration between the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT) and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M). It is co-led by Dr. Bruno Ebner (KIT) and Dr. Eduardo García Portugués (UC3M).
One PhD position is available at KIT, located in Karlsruhe, Germany, and another at UC3M, located in Leganés, Madrid, Spain. The positions are for three years, with potential for extension, offering competitive salaries (€41,000/year at KIT and €21,000/year at UC3M) and funding for research stays at both institutions and other universities.
