Assistant Director of Sales (Complex Office)
Position purpose: The Assistant Director of Sales reports to the Director of Sales and will assist in managing the implementation of the hotel’s sales strategies and achieving budgeted top line revenue for the hotel.
The ideal candidate will be organized, detail oriented, enjoy working in a team environment, and lead and develop team members. The ADOS must communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbally.
Responsibilities
* Assist in leading and supervising the sales team, oversee day‑to‑day sales activities, implement action plans, and achieve goals and set targets.
* Attend sales strategy meetings to provide input on weekly and overall sales strategy.
* Analyze market information using sales systems and implement strategy to achieve the property’s financial room and catering goals.
* Collaborate with off‑property sales channels (e.g., Event Booking Center, Market Sales, GSO) to ensure the property’s needs are being met and sales efforts are complementary, not duplicative.
* Assist in the production of the annual hotel business plan.
* Attend customer events, trade shows, and sales missions to maintain, build, or develop key relationships with GSO Managers and customers.

Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years hotel sales experience – luxury brands preferred.
* Experience in MICE and Leisure segments.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Decision‑making skills and astute business acumen.
* Immaculate presentation at all times, representing the Marriott Luxury Brands.
* Relationship with inbound tour operators and wholesalers.
* Relationship with MICE and event management companies.
* Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and attitude towards clients and colleagues as an ambassador of Marriott International.
* Lead by positive example; ensure sales team members reflect positively on the hotel.
* Ability to overcome obstacles and objections.
* Sees challenges as opportunities.
* Ability to prioritize workload, be organized, and well‑structured.
* Must have initiative, be a self‑starter, not waiting to be driven.
* Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English and Spanish; German is a plus.
