We are seeking an experienced Character Rigger Artist to work on feature film and virtual reality projects that utilize game engines for visualization. You will be responsible of taking the static image from a modeler and create separate rigs for each part of the character, such as their facial expressions and limb movements.
- Working in this position will allow you to create captivating 3D digital skeletons of computer-generated characters before they can be passed along to the final animation team. You will be working in a team with lots of other talented artists, engineers and programmers.
**About the Role**:
- Collaborate with the 3D Modelers and Animators for any changes or adjustments needed before the final characters are made.
- Make sure that all of the different rigs work together
- Work carefully to create the overall skeleton underneath the final animation
- Enable visual tasks to be performed efficiently and accurately
- To help create rigging for human characters as well as fantasy models.
- Taking in consideration the needs and specification of each project and respect the main concept of the production
- Maintain quality and continuity while developing characters that support the art direction.
- Work with 3D production team to understand technical requirements.
- Active participation in technical and artistic discussions and problem solving.
- Maintains a consistent style under the direction of production designers, art directors and creative directors.
- Work closely with the 3D Modelers and Animators to ensure the pipeline is as efficient as possible.
- Able to transfer existing rigging from Cinema 4D and Blender scenes to Maya and adjust|complete it
**About You**:
- 4+ years of rigging experience in Maya
- 2+ years rigging experience in the games industry with at least one AAA game shipped on PC or console.
- Strong experience with developing rigging characters with combo Maya+Unreal Engine essential.
- Experience with developing rigging characters within Unreal Engine
- Good visual and technical understanding of rigging, texturing and skinning development.
- Strong experience of rigging both from a technical and artistic perspective for Unreal Engine
