Mission of the Role
The Regulatory and Technical Specialist will be a key driver of Decco's regional regulatory strategy and a critical link to integral regulatory projects as well as ensure validation of R&D; initiatives through field and lab trials, directly supporting business growth. Responsibilities include providing regulatory technical support in the region and global coordinating cross-functional teams on regional/global R&D; projects and partnering with customers to create new business opportunities. The candidate brings strong expertise in regulatory workflows, dossier preparation, and authority coordination, combined with hands-on experience in product performance trials. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and adaptability are essential to introduce and validate post-harvest technologies aligned with business needs while collaborating with key industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory and technical responsibilities:
- Develop and execute regional regulatory strategies aligned with regional global strategic plans.
- Support dossier preparation, regulatory submissions, and coordinate with authorities to ensure compliance.
- Manage regulatory documents and reports from cross‑functional stakeholders to support the Global Regulatory Coordinator.
- Coordinate with internal regulatory colleagues (UPL, Advanta) to expedite project progress.
- Administrate regulatory studies and ensure timely completion and reporting.
- Engage and coordinate with consultants to drive regulatory projects on time.
- Support R&D; evaluation plan for priority projects.
- Maintain relationships with national universities and government bodies to liaise and cross‑leverage knowledge & resources.
- Business support responsibilities:
- Identify new post‑harvest commercial opportunities to build business revenue.
- Engage in commercial and promotional activities through technical presentations, product recommendations, and training.
Required Education, Experience, Skills
- MS degree (or higher) in agriculture and related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience related to the job description mentioned.
- Knowledge of regulatory authorities and registration needs in diverse geographies especially in Asia.
- Good experience in regulatory workflow and conducting R&D; trials (field, packhouse, lab) on diverse crops and geographies.
- Ability to work in a team environment – collaboration and cooperation.
- Computer skills: Excel and other MS Office programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills
- MBA or management diploma in agribusiness and related.
- Understanding of post‑harvest management (fruit, vegetables, cereals).
- Willing to travel.
- Knowledge of agrochemicals, biologicals and their general use.
- Project management experience.
